Music
The Shared Myths are a contemporary folk outfit, sometimes tender, sometimes theatrical, sometimes wild and raw – with fast paced, unusual lyrics that touch on subjects ranging from desperate love, feverish dreams, outlaw logic, hedonistic fables, suburban shamans and more.
Based in Hastings and a huge part of the vibrant musical scene on the south coast, The Shared Myths also play regularly in London and are lining up a tour in 2025 to coincide with the release of their third album.
Upcoming shows

The Death of Lucy
Danny Horn & the Shared Myths are back with their third album, ‘The Death of Lucy’.
“The Death Of Lucy, then, is sophisticatedly complex, i.e. it’s highly entertaining to listen to – and hence you don’t spot how clever it is on an early listen. In both the writing and the playing, Horn intermingles traditions of theatre, of music, of the lyrical dexterity seen in American music of, say, the later 30’s to the 50’s. The Shared Myths give a lively accompaniment. It’s all rather splendid.’ – folking.com
Sirens & Sea Monsters
This second collection of songs, released in 2023 leans into a wilder gypsy folk sound.
‘Existential UK Country at its best’ – Tim Howlinger
